About Forrest Good PLLC

A note about this site. Forrest Good has joined the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office, where he represents indigent clients in misdemeanor cases and trials as an assistant public defender. Because Texas law does not permit attorneys employed by a public defender’s office to engage in the private practice of criminal law, Forrest Good PLLC is not accepting new clients. This website remains online as a biographical record and a free educational resource for the San Antonio community.

Forrest Good is an attorney in San Antonio, Texas. He serves as executive director of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, known as SACDLA, and he serves as an assistant public defender with the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office, which he joined in July 2026.

Public Service

The Bexar County Public Defender’s Office represents indigent people as appointed by the trial courts of Bexar County. Through the office’s Misdemeanor Trial Division, Forrest handles misdemeanor cases and trials in the County Courts at Law, defending people who could not otherwise afford counsel.

Private Practice, 2023–2026

From 2023 to 2026, Forrest represented people across Bexar County through Forrest Good PLLC, the solo criminal defense practice he founded in the King William historic district. That work covered DWI and DUI allegations, assault charges, theft charges, drug possession allegations, white collar matters, and record clearing through expunction and nondisclosure. The firm continues as his professional entity, and this site preserves its record and its free educational resources.

Why the Right to Counsel Matters

Forrest Good’s work is grounded in a simple principle: when the State accuses a person of a crime, that person should not stand alone. In Gideon v. Wainwright, 372 U.S. 335 (1963), the Supreme Court held that a person accused of a crime is entitled to a lawyer even when that person cannot afford one. Serving as a public defender is that promise, kept case by case.

Professional Service and Teaching

Forrest serves as executive director of SACDLA. He has also served as a resource attorney with Bexar County’s Managed Assigned Counsel program and has contributed to continuing legal education on local criminal practice. That work reflects a commitment to serious criminal defense, practical teaching, and the day to day realities of Bexar County courts.
